Mmmmmm.
That's all I've got to say about this snowy weekend getaway.
It was uneventful, but in the best way possible. We did whatever we wanted and had no schedule. We sat in our cabin, drank lots of tea, sat in front of the fire, and read {well, to be honest, Brad read and I started the series Downton Abbey on netflix}. I'm surprisingly hooked. It's not the typical type of show that I would be drawn to, but I had heard a lot of people ranting about it so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm really enjoying it. Lady Mary and Mr Matthew are bound to be together... It's only a matter of time. I'm only on season 1 episode 6, so please don't give it away if you're further along in the series. When I was drinking tea by the fire and watching Downton Abbey, I was completely content. I could've stayed in that spot for days. Why don't we have tea parties, wear overly adorned dresses and hats, and have manners anymore? Just a thought. Not to mention those men in bow ties look pretty dapper. If I could get a bow tie on Brad I'd die. Glad I jumped on the Downton Abbey bandwagon.
Other than living vicariously through Downton Abbey, we went to dinner and were the only ones in the restaurant. Luckily we drove up before the snow storm. Our waiter said there were several accidents on his way to work. Sundance is tucked away up in the mountains, so driving there can be a little dangerous during the winter months. Apparently no one wanted to risk driving in the weather conditions either. There was us and one other couple sitting in the restaurant Friday night. It was quite nice to be honest. I ordered a deliciously fancy dish with polenta and veggies. Brad ordered a yummy looking pizza with all the gluten in it he could handle. Watching him devour gluten is one of the most entertaining things to watch. Poor guy... living with a celiac.
We had such a great time, I love spending time with this guy. So glad he's my husband and that I get to do life with him. Bring it baseball season. I'm ready for ya.

gorgeous photos! sounds like an amazing weekend!!

This looks like such a great weekend! And I haven't hopped on the Downton Abbey wagon either, but everyone keeps telling me that I should. Maybe that'll be my next weekend project.

These pictures are beautiful! Sometimes a quiet secluded weekend is EXACTLY what you need to recharge! I keep hearing about Downton Abbey, and I tried to watch it once but I really just couldnt get into it. I keep saying that I'm going to try again....we'll see :)

ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely time :).
This getaway looks absolutely dreamy! I'm so glad you guys had time to get away and relax. And as for a tea party...we should look into that :).
ReplyDeleteSO glad you tried out Downton Abbey. LOVE the show. Watching the third season, and trying to not find out what happens...since my family keeps saying how dramatic it gets (it showed in England first).
ReplyDeleteAnd, it looks like you had a great time!

Gorgeous pictures!! Love your outfit!
ReplyDeleteHi Molly. I found your blog through a comment you left on The Daybook. One of the first things I do when visiting a blog for the first time is check out the 'about' section and if they have something about their beliefs, I look into that too. Your story and love of Christ caught my attention right away and I am now new follower of your blog. I really look forward to your future posts! :-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I JUST started watching Downton Abbey, like yesterday. I'm starting from the current season (which is pretty difficult), but I like it so far.
Hello! Good Morning! I nominated you for an "Inspirational Blogger" Award! Thanks for always entertaining! Check it out here: http://erinhasthoughts.com/2013/02/13/3529/
ReplyDeleteI love a good snowy weekend getaway! Looks like fun! And I'm sure if you are like me you will catch up on Downton in a week flat because it's THAT good!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I did this not too long ago up in Big Bear and we LOVED it! I wish I could run away to a cabin every weekend! And I still have yet to jump on the Downton Abbey train. I need to get my butt in gear.
