date with my dad

Every summer I look forward to going on our father/daughter date. I love spending the day being completely spoiled by the wonderful man I'm lucky enough to call my dad. We drive up to Portland, go to our favorite gluten-free fish house, walk in the west hills, eat lots of ice cream, go to the movies, and he treats me to a new pair of running shoes. Every year I appreciate him more, and I realize how blessed I am to have a dad who still wants to make sure his daughter{s} feel important, even after marriage. I hope I never get too old to go on dates with my dad... I plan on spending a day with the old man even when I have kids of my own.

Thanks again for the date, dad!

  6. So special! I love dates with my dad, though they don't really happen much any more.

ALSO. That dress you are wearing? AMAZING. And ALSO. That little Salt & Straw shop? I die. Going to read your about page now so I can find out where you are basking in all of this cuteness.

P.S. Just found you via Nat the Fat Rat (love her!). I'm Sarah and write the Reverie blog if you ever want to say hi. :)

  11. oh my goodness, what a coincidence. For work, I was researching some popular ice cream parlours in Portland, and Salt&Straw popped up. It's a beautiful place. And this post is the sweetest thing. I'm a daddy's girl myself.

  13. WOW! Does your dad ever look like Liam Neeson. Does he ever get told that? Btw, I think it's so sweet that you two still have dates and spend time together. I can't wait to see a picture of your new running shoes!
