jean jacket

i have had this jean jacket since i was in middle school .

i love this old thing .

it never seems to get old , and i can pair it with anything year round .

i like pairing mine with summer dresses , shorts , leggings , pants , blouses . . . you name it . it always makes an outfit a little more casual , yet a little more put together .

in fact , the longer i've had mine , the more i like it . i think it looks better the more worn in it looks .

if you don't have a good jean jacket , i recommend getting one .

bird's nest cookies

can i be honest ? i love the spring because it gives me an excuse to decorate with nests .

any other time of the year , my husband likes to make jokes about how we live in a nest , and that all of the birds are going to start flying into our apartment . { it's probably true } .

 however , it's spring , and that means i get to decorate as much as i want to with birds , nests , eggs , and twigs . so i plan on going overboard this spring :]

i came across these "bird's nest cookies" over at the art of dessert { if you're looking for some fun and allergy-friendly recipes , check rianne's blog out ! }

when i saw them , i instantly fell in love and knew i had to make them .

{ here's how to make these darling cookies }

Bird's Nest Cookies
makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies

12 oz. package of gluten-free pretzels { rianne from the art of dessert used a 12 oz. package chow mein noodles  }
12 oz. package butterscotch morsels
90 egg-shaped candies { i used cadbury mini eggs }

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.  Pour the butterscotch morsels in a microwave-safe bowl and place them in the microwave. Heat for 30 seconds then remove to stir. Return to the microwave and heat again for 30 seconds. Stir until melted. Add in the chow mein noodles and mix till combined. Use a 1/4 measuring cup to portion out the cookies onto the baking sheet. If the mixture starts to solidify in the mixing bowl, you can reheat for 15 to 30 seconds to melt. Place three egg-shaped candies in the center of each cookie. Allow to set for at least 5 minutes before serving or transferring.

i'm sitting in the phoenix airport { coffee in hand } trying not to fall asleep .

4 am is just cruel . let's be honest .

praise the lord for airport starbucks , my husband who will make sure i don't miss our flight , and people watching .

here we are , sitting in pdx . enjoying sitting , sipping on coffee , and not doing anything .

so far , this spring break has been extremely eventful { in such a good way ! }

yesterday , two of our great friends { ryan and jenna hadden { so fun to finally say that ! } } got hitched ! it was so much fun both being apart of their wedding . it was absolutely gorgeous , and i can't wait to see the wedding pictures . i will do a post as soon as those puppies are posted ! those two lovebirds are on their way to cancun as speak ! so happy for the haddens !

right now , we are headed down to arizona for spring training . brad is a high school baseball coach , so we're headed down to meet the team { they left yesterday } . can't wait to soak up some sun and get out of this rainy weather . 

fun fact : this is our first time riding on a plane TOGETHER . not that cool , but kinda , right ?
