{words worth reflecting}

every morning when i wake up, i kiss my husband, go to the kitchen, pour myself a fresh cup of joe, and head over to the couch for some quality time reading god's word and reflecting on it. there's nothing i enjoy more than my quiet time every morning. i love journaling... it's freeing, gives me a way to reflect on what i just read, and i love going back and seeing the changes in my life through every season. i could journal for hours if i had the time.

i have wanted to read the book blue like jazz for a long time, and i finally decided to read it this summer. this book is amazing. i find myself stopping every other page to think and absorb what i just read. the author is actually from portland, which is cool, because i can picture the places he's talking about in his book. i'm about half way through it, and i can't seem to put it down! [even though i should be reading my textbooks for summer school.] ooops :]

i came across these words this morning, and i had to share them! they really encouraged me, and gave me a clear picture of how my love should look towards christ... hope it encourages you :]

"We dream of Christ's love for His bride reading like Romeo and Juliet; two equals enflamed in liberal love. I think it is more like Lucentio's pursuit of Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew. That is, the groom endearing the belligerent bride with kindness, patience, and love.
Our "behavior" will not be changed long with self-discipline, but fall in love and a human will accomplish what he never thought possible. The laziest of men will swim the English channel to win his woman. I think that by accepting God's love for us, we fall in love with Him, and only then do we have the fuel we need to obey.
In exchange for our humility and willingness to accept the charity of God, we are given a kingdom. And a beggar's kingdom is better than a proud man's delusions."
