i can't even believe it!
this christmas, since i have more time to relax, i thought i would make stockings.
i decided to use burlap, lace, and gold sequins.
i'm happy with how they turned out.
&&& they were really easy to make.
instructions for basic stocking:
-choose whichever fabric you would like to use for your stocking (i chose burlap).
-find an old stocking, and use that as your stencil to trace onto your fabric.
-trace 2 stockings (for the front and the back).
-cut the 2 traced stockings.
-hem the top of the stockings (fold about 1" over)
-place the 2 stocking cutouts on top of each other (make sure the hem's are both facing out, because when you finish sewing the stocking, you will flip it inside out.)
-sew around the stocking (1/4"), but not on the top where the opening will be.
-when you finish sewing around the edges, fold the stocking inside out, and you have a finished stocking!
wow those came out great : ) congrats on your second christmas together!
